Health Information Disclaimer

How to read the health content on this site — and when to seek care instead of reading.

This is general information

The condition and service pages on this website describe what people commonly present with and what assessment and management typically involve. They are written to be useful and honest, and they are general in nature. They are not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not a substitute for being assessed by a qualified practitioner who can examine you.

Individual results vary

Two people with the same label on their problem can respond very differently. Nothing on this site should be read as a promise about how quickly you will improve, how many appointments you will need, or what the outcome will be. No practitioner can guarantee a result, and we do not.

Scope of practice

Northern Beaches Chiropractic provides chiropractic care for musculoskeletal presentations. Chiropractic care is not a treatment for non-musculoskeletal disease. Where an assessment suggests a cause outside that scope, you will be told and referred to the appropriate health professional.

Urgent symptoms

Seek immediate medical attention — call 000 — if you experience any of the following:

  • Loss of bladder or bowel control, or numbness around the groin
  • Sudden, severe or progressive weakness in an arm or leg
  • A sudden, severe headache unlike any you have had before
  • Chest pain, difficulty breathing, or signs of stroke
  • Significant injury following trauma such as a fall or a crash

For urgent but non-emergency concerns, contact your GP or healthdirect on 1800 022 222.

Currency and review

Health content on this site shows the date it was last reviewed and the practitioner who reviewed it. Guidance changes over time — if a page looks out of date to you, please let us know.

Regulation

Chiropractors in Australia are registered health practitioners, regulated by the Chiropractic Board of Australia under AHPRA. Registration can be verified on the AHPRA public register.
