What People Come In For

Musculoskeletal presentations, explained without the scare tactics. Pick the one closest to yours.

What conditions does a chiropractor treat?

Chiropractors assess and manage musculoskeletal conditions — back pain, neck pain, headaches with a neck component, shoulder and hip pain, sciatica, sports injuries, work-related pain and general stiffness. Presentations outside that scope are referred to the appropriate health professional.

Back Pain

Assessment and management of lower and mid back pain, from sudden onset to long-running niggles.

Neck Pain

Assessment and management of neck pain, stiffness and the headaches that often come with them.

Headaches

Assessment of tension-type and neck-related headaches, and honest guidance on when a headache needs a different pathway.

Shoulder Pain

Assessment and loading-based management of rotator cuff irritation, overhead restriction and training-related shoulder pain.

Hip Pain

Assessment and management of lateral hip pain, deep hip stiffness and glute-related complaints in runners, golfers and desk workers.

Sciatica

Assessment and management of nerve-related leg pain, including what recovery usually looks like and when to escalate.

Sports Injuries

Assessment, management and return-to-sport planning for training, running and club sport injuries.

Work-Related Pain

Assessment and management of musculoskeletal pain driven by desk work, driving, repetitive tasks and manual trades.

Mobility Restrictions

Assessment and management of joint stiffness and lost range through the hips, shoulders, spine and ankles.

A note on how this content is written

These pages describe what people commonly come in for and what assessment and management typically involve. They are not a diagnosis, and they are not a substitute for being assessed.

You will not find claims that chiropractic cures anything, or that a particular technique fixes a problem permanently. What you will find is a reasonable account of what is usually going on, what the evidence generally supports, and when something needs a different pathway entirely.

Every page is reviewed by Dr Corey Williams and carries the date it was last checked.

Seek urgent medical care if

  • Loss of bladder or bowel control, or numbness around the groin and inner thighs
  • Sudden, severe weakness in an arm or leg
  • Pain following significant trauma such as a fall or car accident
  • Unexplained weight loss, fever or night pain that wakes you consistently
